What is cellulite?
Cellulite is also called orange peel skin and is a changing state of the subcutaneous connective tissue causing pits in the skin. It mainly occurs on the legs and buttocks, but it can also occur in other places. Cellulite is more common in women than in men, because they have a different build-up of connective tissue under the influence of genes and hormones.
Causes of cellulite:
- Overweight (also occurs in slender ladies, by the way)
- Genetic predisposition
- Unhealthy lifestyle with a lot of stress
- Exercise and training
- High calorie and sugar intake & digestion problems
- High intake of highly processed foods with low nutritional value.
- Hormone imbalance
- Birth control pill
- Smoking cigarettes
